Rev. Tony Lee Boseman

Rev. Tony Lee Boseman, age 79, of 200 Boseman Road, Anderson, S.C. passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at his home. He was the son of the late Aaron Boseman Sr. and Ilove Clinkscales Boseman. He was married to Katherine Blondell Mattress Boseman for 58 years and 10 months. He was a member of Welfare Baptist Church, Belton, S.C. where he served as an Associate Minister and committed servant and leader. His community, activities, outreach and volunteerism included Brotherhood leader/mentee; Sunday-school and new-member class teacher, church trustee; 3-star athlete (Football, basketball, and baseball); referee for youth and community basketball leagues; youth-basketball mentee; retirement-party coordinator for his Owens-Corning Fiberglass friends; and general church volunteer (Cook for church events, painter, etc.). Rev. Boseman went to theology school at Anderson University and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass after 37 years and Anderson University after 11 years of service. He graduated from Geer Gantt High School Class in 1964 and obtained some college credits from Benedict University, where he received a three-sport scholarship. He loved his family, Tony loved bowling, and soft ball. Survivors include his wife of the home, Katherine Blondell Mattress Boseman; Daughters, Letia Boseman and Dionne Boseman; Sisters, Mary (CL) Boseman-McAfee; Brother, Leroy (Carolyn) Boseman; and Sister-in-law, Bessie Lee (Aaron Jr.) Boseman; nine stepbrothers and stepsisters, Ella Howard, John W. Jones, Janie Stewart, Minnie Jones, Sarah Groves, James Harold Scott, Minnie E. Rice, Ruthell Wilson, and Callie Mae Harrison. Rev. Boseman is also survived by his Godsons: Derrick (Trista) Boseman and Kevin Boseman; Goddaughters: Melinda (Terrance) Mattison and Tonya (James) Willingham (His “Best Friend”), Demetria (Chris) Spearman; Cousin-daughter: Shawn (Jason) Williams and Telethia Boseman; and God-Grandchildren: Feonta Brimfield, Taylor Parker, Isabella and Ethan Montague, Bralen and Kendahl Spearman and Max (Mary Laura) Bolden, Briana Boseman, Aaron Reese Boseman, and Breah (David) Wyatt ; and a host of Boseman, Clinkscale, and Mattress family; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Aaron Boseman Sr. and Ilove Boseman; one daughter, Ingrid Boseman; three sisters, Loretta Boseman-Jenkins, Patricia Boseman Gillespie, and Evelyn Wilkes; and four brothers, Roger Boseman (Ruby), Milton Boseman, Lucius Wadell Boseman, and Aaron Boseman Jr.; Godson, Chadwick Boseman; and two stepmothers, Olar Bell Scott Boseman and Daisy Simmons Boseman. Funeral Service will be held Friday at 3:00P.M. at Welfare Baptist Church, burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Public viewing will be held Thursday from 11:00A.M. to 7:00P.M. at the funeral home Holloway’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family is at the home.
