Horace Jacob Davis Jr., age 62 of Anderson, SC, transitioned to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 19, 2025, surrounded by his family and the caring staff of AnMed Medical Center. Horace, affectionately known as June, was born in Anderson County on August 10, 1962. He was the beloved son of Bishop Odis M. Davis and the late Reverend Horace Jacob Davis Sr. Horace was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on earth was marked by love, strength, and unwavering faith in God. He was a member of the former Mt. Calvary Interdenominational Church and a veteran of the United States Army. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Eleanor Miller Davis, of the home, daughters Nicole Davis of Greenville, SC, Natasha (Troy) Scott of Williamsburg, VA, Markisha Bolden of Anderson, SC, bonus daughter, Yolanda (James) Williams of Piedmont, SC, bonus son Terrell (Megan) Evans of Belton, SC, godsons Chevon (Siobhan) Johnson of Chesapeake, VA, and Caleb Brown of Newport News, VA, brothers Ronnie Davis, and Reggie (Renee) Davis of Belton, SC, and 10 grandchildren. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, and cousins who immensely loved him. Horace will be deeply missed by his father-in-law, James Howard Miller (Peggy), sisters-in-law, Yvonne Mattison and Cheryl Miller, and brother-in-law, James (Tangee) Miller. He was predeceased by his father, Reverend Horace Jacob Davis Sr., first wife, Newonna Mae Davis, and mother-in-law Willie O Miller. Horace received his education through Belton public schools. After being medically and honorably discharged from the military, he worked many years in manufacturing and served as a supervisor at Clarion Technologies Inc. In his later years of life, Horace worked in car sales at Dorsey Auto Sales and helped countless people secure their car purchases. If you know anything about Horace, you know he brought laughter to those around him. He loved to sing and enjoyed quartet music. His love for this style of gospel music allowed him to travel locally and out of state to sing alongside others who enjoyed it as well. Horace was a huge supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks sports teams. He enjoyed attending antique car shows and his ownership of classic vehicles reflected his unique style that was consistently expressed through his love for fashion. Those who knew Horace will remember him for his deep-rooted faith in Jesus, dedication to his family, and unwavering love and kindness to everyone he encountered. He has truly left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. Although Horace’s physical presence will no longer grace our lives, may the life he lived continue to inspire and uplift us. Having Horace in our lives was a blessing, so let us carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in everything we do. The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Horace Jacob Davis Jr. will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM at King David Baptist Church located at 308 Old Green Pond Rd, Anderson, SC 29625. The interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens located at 3400 Highway 24, Anderson, SC 29626.
