Melice D. Lee

Mellice D. Lee 83, Sandusky, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. She was born October 9, 1941 in Easely, South Carolina to the late Willie Walker and Willie May Nesbit. Mellice was a 1957 graduate of Clearview High School in South Carolina. In 1961 Mellice united in marriage to her beloved Alvin Sr. A pillar of the community she worked and served in many capacities. Mellice was a dedicated and faithful member of Ebenezer Baptist church where she was an usher, a member of the kitchen crew, a Wednesday morning prayer warrior, she always willingly lent a hand wherever she was needed. Mellice also shared her time and talents with Lakview Chapter#65 Order of Eastern Star and National Council of Negro Women Sandusky Section. Mellice retired from Firelands Regional Medical Center after 52 years of service, at the time of her retirement she was the longest tenured employee. She did this while being a devoted wife and mother. Cherishing the memory of Mellice is her husband of 63 years Alvin Lee Sr., her children Alvin (Sue) Lee Jr., Michael D. Lee of Sandusky; Step-daughter Alberta (Alec) Hartman Lorain, Step-son Aerial (Quiana) Weatherspoon Columbus. Special daughter-in-law, Monique Stovall. Grandchildren: Jermaine (Nicole) Harris, Michael Stovall, Allyson Lee, Ashley Darr, Tashon Aaron, Jeremiah Lee, Alezai and Alijah Hartman, bonus grandchild Elli. 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter, Aria Delk. Siblings: Mary Frances, Yvone, Lisa, Loretta, brother Jerry and Brother-in-law Bernard, 43 nieces/nephews, numerous friends and numerous relatives. Preceding in the transition of Mellice were her parents, 6 siblings and special aunt Virginia Scott. Mellice was a fantastic cook, fabulous dresser, and had a heart of gold. She was known for her beautiful smile. Her beauty on the outside matched her love she carried on the inside for her family, friends, and everyone she encountered, and most importantly her love for the Lord. Friends may call on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 10 A.M. until time of funeral services at 12 P.M. Noon in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Rev. Clayton E. Howard Sr. will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky is handling the arrangements.
